Photos from my hula workshops this past May. Just did a couple workshops this time. All photos were taken in Takasaki-shi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
Nanako
Nanako is one of the keiki dancers from Naleilehuaikapoli. We started her solo training this past May for the 2014 JALPAK Hula Ho'olauna Hula Festival. Looking forward to watching her blossom! Nanako's pictured here with Kiyoko taking notes on the hula I taught her.

Ka'ena
The ladies of Naleilehuaikapoli will perform Ka'ena this coming July at the JALPAK Hula Ho'olauna Ho'ike in Honolulu. They looked beautiful during the workshops!

Chieko
Chieko has been with the halau for several years and has participated in a few JALPAK festivals. She is a beautiful dancer and is a talented seamstress as well as a crafter.

Noriko
Noriko is a beautiful dancer and a real trooper. She had a problem with her eye and had to wear that eye patch during the workshops. She danced perfectly, didn't miss a beat of step out of line!

Hideko
This is Hideko. Not the best photo of her, but represents her personality well. She's like everyone's mother...always taking care of everyone. Last year was Hideko's first time with the JALPAK group and her dancing improved drastically. She always works hard on her hulas.
